Hollinshead, Department of Finance adjunct faculty, Mike Ilitch School of Business, participated in a Q&A regarding credit card balance transfers. “Consumers should pay close attention to the balance transfer fees when shopping for credit cards. Many consumers are drawn to credit card offers with 0% or a low introductory interest rate for a limited time because they want to consolidate their debt or get an interest free loan. They may not be aware that the introductory rate is effectively much higher when the impact of the balance transfer fee is included,” Hollinshead said.
