New District Detroit restaurants added to OneCard discount program

With classes beginning this fall in the new Mike Ilitch School of Business facility in the District Detroit, Wayne State University has been working with its neighbors to offer expanded discounts on dining options for WSU students and staff through the Show Your One Card & Save program.

Our two newest partners are Mike’s Pizza Bar and Sports & Social Detroit. Anyone who shows their Wayne State OneCard will get 15 percent off their entire bill — excluding alcohol — at both restaurants, which are located at the new Little Caesars Arena.

Show Your One Card & Save is a program designed to connect the Wayne State community with local shops, restaurants and businesses by offering special discounts or promotions to its 28,000 students and 6,500 faculty and staff. Participation in the program is free, and businesses must commit to offering the promotion or discount for one year from the start of the program.

Sports & Social Detroit is a sports bar and social lounge located at the Comerica Entry at Little Caesars Arena (Southeast corner of Woodward and Henry Street). The venue features a multi-screen media wall, serving an eclectic menu with plates for sharing. Combining the traditional elements of a sports tavern, Sports & Social Detroit is a prime destination for groups, professionals and all those whose competitive spirit thrives.

Mike’s Pizza Bar, named after the late entrepreneur, Detroit native and Ilitch School benefactor Mike Ilitch, offers artisanal and deep-dish pizzas, salads grinders and more. Located adjacent to Sports & Social Detroit at Little Caesars Arena, the establishment has two bars in addition to indoor and outdoor table seating and a private dining room.

Both venues are accessible to customers inside and outside the arena.

Little Caesars Arena is located less than a block south of the new Ilitch School facility, which sits on Woodward at Temple Street. The new location brings students closer to the heart of Detroit’s business community and enhances access to internship and career opportunities.
