Ilitch School development office hires two staffers

The Mike Ilitch School of Business Office of Development and Alumni Affairs recently hired two staff members.

Amy Roberge Heitman
Major Gift Officer

An alumna with a degree in marketing from the Mike Ilitch School of Business, Amy Heitman is no stranger across the campus of Wayne State University. After graduation, Amy landed a job with Campbell-Ewald where she moved up the ranks to media planner. Following sales and marketing management roles at various companies, Amy returned to Wayne State in 2010 as the Alumni Association's membership manager. Amy has also held positions at WSU as a marketing manager and the interim senior director of alumni relations. She joins the Ilitch School from a very successful role as licensing director where she formulated and implemented growth strategies for licensed items, both on and off campus, that resulted in the highest sales in the history of the program. She also managed the Wayne Insiders program.

In her new role, Amy will focus on expanding the support we need for the building, students, faculty and programs as the Mike Ilitch School of Business moves this spring to its new home at the corner of Woodward and Temple – and well beyond. She is located in Suite 217 of the Prentis Building, and she can be reached at 313-577-9208 or amy.heitman@wayne.edu.

Vanessa Miller
Alumni & Donor Relations Officer

A graduate of Wayne State, Vanessa Miller comes to the Ilitch School from the Detroit Historical Society, where she managed signature fundraising events, as well as the commemorative activities surrounding the opening of their million-dollar exhibition and project Detroit 1967; the largest and most complex endeavor ever undertaken by the society with over 100 community partners.

Prior to the Detroit Historical Society, Vanessa spent 10 years at the College of Creative Studies with a team that raised over $7 million for scholarships and free art programs for Detroit youth. In addition, she developed an institution-wide volunteer engagement program, worked closely with Alumni Relations, and participated in the committee that prepared a successful argument for reaccreditation to the Higher Learning Commission.

Vanessa’s office is located in Prentis Building Suite 217, and she can be reached via email at vanessa.miller@wayne.edu or 313-577-8598.
