Attila Yaprak invited to join Northeast Board of Advisors for Academy of International Business

Mike Ilitch School of Business Professor of Marketing and International Business Attila Yaprak has been invited to join the Board of Advisors for the Northeast U.S. Chapter of the Academy of International Business (AIB). He also serves as chair of the history committee and AIB historian.

Founded in 1959, AIB is the largest and the most prestigious scholarly association in international business in the world with more than 3,000 members on six continents. AIB is the publisher of the Journal of International Business Studies and the Journal of International Business Policy, each widely considered top journals in the fields of international business and international business policy.

AIB’s Northeast U.S. Chapter stretches from Maine to Virginia along the northeast coast of the U.S. and extends west to include Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

As senior scholars in the field of international business, AIB chapter advisors provide professional consulting services to the chapter chair and other members of the leadership team.

A member of Wayne State University’s faculty for more than 40 years, Yaprak’s association with the AIB goes back to his days as an undergraduate student at Indiana University in the late 1960s. He has served in many roles within the AIB, including as the organization’s executive secretary in the 1990s, when the AIB’s Secretariat was located in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
