Individual exchange programs
Overview
Individual exchange programs differ from faculty-led study abroad as they are typically longer, with students traveling independently to the host university. Work with Louise Moceri, Ilitch School’s study abroad director, and Lisa Kyle of Study Abroad & Global Programs, to determine how the program aligns with your degree. We offer opportunities in 16 countries, with 11 programs featuring business coursework!
Getting Started
Contact WSU’s Study Abroad & Global Programs and Louise Moceri at least two semesters before your planned exchange. They will assist you in selecting a destination and host institution.
Course Evaluation
Before applying, meet with Louise Moceri to assess the courses you wish to take abroad and submit descriptions or syllabi to your academic advisor for review. Wait for approval before registering for courses at the host institution.
Eligibility
All Ilitch School students in good academic standing can apply, with graduate students requiring a 3.0 GPA and undergraduates a 2.0 GPA; university partners also have individual entrance requirements which vary from program to program. Students may participate in one program per academic year. Approval from both Ilitch School and Study Abroad & Global Programs is needed to register for courses at the host college or university.
