Ilitch School welcomes new members to its Board of Visitors

The Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business is proud to welcome the following new members to its Board of Visitors, effective July 1, 2021:

  • Camille Walker Banks, executive director, NPower Michigan
  • Mike McLauchlan, vice president of government relations, Ilitch Holdings, Inc.
  • Grace Zacharek, director of global procurement operations and governance, Corteva Agriscience

Additionally, Lora Mariani, vice president and relationship manager, Fifth Third Bank, will join the board through her role as incoming chair of the Ilitch School’s Alumni Council. She succeeds past chair, Jason Brown.

Board of Visitors members serve renewable three-year terms at the invitation of the dean. Their role is to advise and support the dean on the strategic direction and advancement of the school.

About Camille Walker Banks

Camille Walker Banks is the executive director for NPower Michigan, leading an expansion to the Detroit/southeast Michigan market. Banks is a Detroit native with deep roots in the business, nonprofit and philanthropic communities. She recently led the highest-performing site in the United States for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses initiative at Wayne State University.

Banks is a seasoned, growth-minded leader who has built a successful career across corporate and government sectors. Her 20-year career has a strong foundation in business growth and development, process improvement and capital access that spans across industries including technology, service, manufacturing and philanthropy. A two-time Wayne State graduate, Banks holds a bachelor’s in finance from the Ilitch School and a master of urban planning.

About Mike McLauchlan

Mike McLauchlan, vice president of government relations, joined Ilitch Holdings, Inc. in 2008 and has spent more than 25 years building strong relationships at all levels of the community.

Previously, McLauchlan was senior vice president and manager of government relations for Comerica Incorporated, where he was responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of Comerica’s local, state and federal government relations activities. A lawyer by trade, he also served as associate counsel at Hayduk, Dawson, Andrews and Hypnar P.C.

McLauchlan is an active member in the community and has served on many boards, including a current role as an advisory board member for the Michigan Political Leadership Program. He earned a bachelor’s from Michigan State University and a doctorate of law from Detroit College of Law.

About Grace Zacharek

Grace Zacharek has worked at Corteva Agriscience since 2017 and currently serves as director of global procurement operations and governance. She is a global executive with experience leading procurement/supply chain transformation journeys in both corporate and fast-paced startups.

Zacharek received a B.S. in medicine from Tongji Medical University in China and earned her M.B.A. from Wayne State. She has extensive supply chain experience working in both China and the U.S. over her career. Zacharek has served on several nonprofit boards over the years and continues to work as a mentor for students and young professionals.
