Ilitch School of Business offers MBA program in new fully online modality

In the fall of 2023, students enrolling in the MBA program at the Mike Ilitch School of Business will be able to choose to earn their MBA in a fully online modality. This will allow out-of-state students to enroll at Wayne State University, a Carnegie 1 research institution, at in-state tuition rates amounting to a 50% reduction in tuition cost.

“This program is exciting for so many reasons,” commented Dean Virginia Kleist. “By offering students the flexibility to earn their MBA online, we make these programs more accessible for everyone. No one should have to choose between their personal and professional commitments, and the education they need to advance their careers and now they won’t have to.”

The online modality offers all 13 optional concentrations available to in-person students at the university ranked Michigan’s best for social mobility by U.S. News & World Report. Classes are taught by top-notch faculty, and curriculums are informed by leading industries.

Students in the online modality will have priority seating in all online course listings, however those students will not be able to switch between online and in-person courses. To be eligible for admission, students must submit an official transcript showing they have received a bachelor’s degree with at least a 2.75 GPA, and a resume with their online application. August 1, 2023, is the deadline for the Fall term, and December 1, 2023, is the deadline for the winter term.

This program is also available to international students who are not on an F1 or J1 visa. Area businesses can also take advantage of this program and receive a 10% discount on tuition when they send a cohort of 25 students.
