Ilitch Business student earns top intern honors from Enterprise

Jordan Lichtenberger, a senior majoring in marketing at the Mike Ilitch School of Business, has received a $1,000 scholarship from Enterprise for being chosen at the company’s top sales management trainee intern in her region for fall 2020.

The criteria for the award were a combination of sales, community service and other performance metrics. Lichtenberger bested 11 other interns from across the state of Michigan to take home the top prize.

Lichtenberger, who is scheduled to graduate from Wayne State this summer, previously completed internships at Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts in Orlando, Florida, and closer to home at GTB in Dearborn. Upon graduation, she hopes to work for an ad agency in marketing analytics.

A Detroit native, Lichtenberger began her college career at Saginaw Valley State University before transferring to Wayne State during her sophomore year. She has made the most of her time at the Ilitch School participating in the school’s Corporate Mentor Program and serving on the executive board for the Mike Ilitch Marketing Association. In addition to the scholarship she won from Enterprise, she is also a recipient of the Ilitch School’s Austin and Harriet Kanter Endowed Scholarship.

“Coming to Wayne State was intimidating, but it has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” Lichtenberger said. “Every faculty member at the Ilitch School wants the best for every student … and there’s nothing better than being in the heart of Detroit and learning from world-class professionals.”
