International study is part of a world-class business education and is a life-changing experience. As a business student in good academic standing, you are encouraged to pursue study abroad!
Faculty-Led Programs
In partnership with the Office of Study Abroad & Global Program, the Ilitch School offers annual faculty-led programs for both undergraduate and graduate students. These programs combine visits to major domestic companies and overseas operations of Detroit-based firms with cultural experiences and excursions. Students earn three academic credits and can participate during spring/summer terms or spring break.
Individual Exchange Programs
For more flexibility, consider an individual exchange program. Wayne State offers study abroad opportunities in 12 countries, ranging from four weeks to a full semester. The WSU Office of Study Abroad & Global Programs will help you with the application process. These programs are available throughout the academic year and vary in length.
Advising Support
Meet with an advisor to discuss your goals and degree requirements before applying. Undergraduate students can contact Louise Moceri, director of international and study abroad programs at the Frederick Hessler Student Success Center. Graduate students should reach out to their academic advisor through the Graduate Programs Office.
International Students
We welcome international undergraduate and graduate students to study in Detroit, learning from our internationally ranked faculty in AACSB-accredited programs. You can apply as an exchange student for a term or as a degree-seeking student at the doctoral, master's and undergraduate level. We also offer post-bachelor and graduate certificate options.
For application assistance, contact Lisa Kyle, international exchange coordinator in the Office of Study Abroad & Global Programs. For specific program inquiries, reach out to Louise Mocer, director of international and study abroad programs at the Frederick Hessler Student Success Center. Graduate students should reach out to their academic advisor through the Graduate Programs Office.
