International & Study Abroad Programs

Study abroad and international programming

Mike Ilitch School of Business students

Offering a world class business education, the Mike Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University understands that international study is a life-changing experience. As a business student in good academic standing, you are welcomed and encouraged to pursue a study abroad program! You can do so in one of two ways:

Faculty-led programs

If you'd like to enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Ilitch School students and faculty while traveling, then a faculty-led program is for you.

In conjunction with WSU's Office of Study Abroad & Global Programs, the Ilitch School offers faculty-led programs annually for groups of graduate and undergraduate business students looking to expand their cultural experiences while increasing their knowledge about business on an international scale. Each program takes students on multiple visits to name-brand domestic corporations and start-ups, as well as to the overseas operations of Detroit-area companies. Cultural sites and fun excursions are also on the itinerary. Students earn three academic credits with the satisfactory completion of the program.

Individual exchange programs

Seeking to select your own destination and program of study? Then consider an individual exchange program.

Wayne State offers you 12 countries to consider for a study abroad experience, with programs lasting from four weeks to a semester or longer. If you decide this type of program is for you, the Office of Study Abroad & Global Programs can help you apply for admission to a college or university based on your country of choice.

We're here to help

To help you select a faculty-led or individual exchange program and determine how it may apply toward your degree, undergraduates need to contact Louise Moceri, director of international and study abroad programs, Frederick Hessler Student Success Center. All graduate business students must contact their academic advisor through the Ilitch School's Graduate Programs Office.

Faculty-led programs run during the spring/summer terms, as well as over spring break. Individual exchange programs run each academic term and vary in length.

Please meet to discuss your program goals before applying for any program.
