Wayne State University's Forum On Contemporary Issues in Society (FOCIS) and CitizenDetroit host civic engagement project
Several media outlets reported about a community event designed to explore issues and solutions to Detroit’s fiscal crisis. Wayne State’s Forum on contemporary Issues in Society (FOCIS) and CitizenDetroit hosted the first of three programs last night which brought together Detroit residents who participated in workshops and dialogue on the topic. The event was held at the International Institute at Kirby and John R. The CitizenDetroit initiative was created by former City Councilwoman Sheila Cockrel and Irvin D. Reid, business professor and former Wayne State University president.
