Mike Ilitch School of Business graduate and longtime supporter Neal F. Zalenko (’67) will receive the Jewish Federation of Metro Detroit’s William Davidson Lifetime Achievement Award at the organization’s 2021 Federation Awards Night on May 3.

Established in 2000, the William Davidson Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes honors “individuals from Jewish Detroit for their outstanding dedication, leadership and commitment to our community.”

In addition to a long and successful professional career as an accountant, consultant and investor, Zalenko has been an active leader in the Metro Detroit Jewish community for more than three decades. He is board president of the Marjorie and Maxwell Jospey Foundation and a member of the Board of Trustees at Adat Shalom Congregation. Zalenko also serves on the boards of the Jewish National Fund-Michigan, Yad Ezra, Kadima, Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, Forgotten Harvest, Walsh College and the Detroit College Promise.

A proud Wayne State University alum, Zalenko has served his alma mater in a variety of roles, including longtime service on the Mike Ilitch School of Business Board of Visitors. He received the Ilitch School’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 1992. This signature award recognizes graduates “whose exceptional achievements over a career in business, education or public service have brought honor and distinction to his or her alma mater.”
