Ilitch School raises $104,945 on Giving Day 2022

Wayne State University hosted its sixth annual Giving Day celebration on April 7. The Mike Ilitch School of Business raised $109,945 during the 24-hour campaign with a 94.3% increase over the previous year. The amount raised put the Ilitch School in the top three WSU schools and colleges for Giving Day 2022.

While gifts and commitments were earmarked for a variety of projects, the Ilitch School highlighted specific challenges related to the Alumni Council Student Experience Fund, Forsythe Fund for Global Education, M.B.A. Response Student Organization, and an Ilitch School-wide Student Emergency Fund to provide scholarships to business students who have outstanding student account balances and may be at risk for dropping out.

Alumni Council Chair Lora Mariani (B.S. ’86) said, “It’s a time for me to pay it forward so students can have the support and programs they need, just like I did in my time at Wayne State.”

Ilitch School Alumni Relations Officer Hannah Olszewski added, “Giving Day is a great way to show Warrior pride by supporting the programs that mean the most to you. Whether you are an alum, student, faculty or staff member, or friend of the university, Giving Day provides opportunities to make a significant impact on current and future students.”

The Ilitch School received gifts from 141 donors this year. Overall, WSU raised $963,740.75 from 1,582 donors.
