Ilitch School management major recognized for 2021-22 Athletics Deans’ Award
The Wayne State University Department of Athletics holds its Academic Recognition Luncheon annually to honor student-athletes who earned at least a 3.5 GPA for the fall semester of that particular academic year and to recognize Athletics Deans' Award winners for having the highest cumulative GPA among all student-athletes in their particular school or college.
Mike Ilitch School of Business student-athlete Laura Cazacu was one of eight Athletics Deans' Award winners recognized this year. She is a senior on the women’s tennis team and is graduating next month with a degree in management. Cazacu has earned Athletic Director’s Honor Roll accolades (term GPA 3.5+) all seven semesters with a perfect 4.0 term GPA every semester. She will be a four-year ITA Scholar-Athlete. Cazacu was First Team All-GLIAC in 2019-20 after earning Second Team All-GLIAC honors as a freshman. She has a combined 113-38 record in singles (56-15) and doubles (57-23) with her singles winning percentage ranking in the top 10 in school history.
