Ilitch Business student-athletes receive All-GLIAC recognition for women’s indoor track and field

Seventeen members of the Wayne State University women’s indoor track and field team were recognized with GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) All-Academic accolades, including 14 on the All-Academic Excellence Team. Over the last eight years, 122 Warrior women’s indoor track and field student-athletes have earned GLIAC All-Academic honors.

Of the 17 athletes honored, five are Mike Ilitch School of Business students.

Student-athletes receiving All-Academic Excellence Team honors for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 were juniors Thailyia Christensen (marketing) and Mikayla Williams (management), along with sophomores Mikaela Owen (accounting) and Macie Ries (accounting).

Christensen and Williams were recognized for the second straight indoor season. Owen and Ries were recipients in their first season eligible.

Receiving All-Academic Team recognition for maintaining a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 was senior Izzy Taylor (management). Taylor was honored for the second straight year.
