Ilitch Business student-athletes receive All-GLIAC recognition for men’s swimming and diving

The 2020-21 Wayne State University men’s swimming and diving program had 19 GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) All-Academic recipients, equaling the program record and leading the GLIAC. The Warriors tied the previous school record of 11 All-Academic Excellence recipients set during the 2019-20 academic year. Five of the 2020-21 recipients are Mike Ilitch School of Business student-athletes.

Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 are graduate student Hussain Alzaid (M.B.A.) and junior Chris Westgate (management).

Westgate earned All-Academic Excellence honors for the second straight season. Alzaid was honored for the first time after being a graduate transfer in January of 2020.

Representatives on the All-Academic Team for having a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 are seniors Tristan Fraley (accounting) and Jack Rogers (accounting) and junior Derek Wilson (marketing).

Fraley and Rogers garnered their third straight GLIAC All-Academic recognition, while Wilson received his second consecutive Academic All-GLIAC award.
