Business case for diversity training: Better decision-making, profits

The idea that diverse teams make better decisions than homogenous groups is a guiding principle behind many executive education programs. But few topics in the business world can be as polarizing as workplace diversity. Long-established processes can also stifle diversity, said Toni Somers, interim chair of Wayne State University School of Business’ Department of Management and Information Systems. She cited the low numbers of women who serve on boards of directors as a result of processes rooted in recommendations from sitting members.
