The Mike Ilitch School of Business building is a beautiful contemporary space that is well-suited to hosting a variety of events. The event services department serves as a resource for those planning an event hosted within its building. Our team can assist with event consultation, planning and management services. We are committed to excellence, diversity and community impact.
Planning your event
From catering to parking and even dean participation, a range of resources are available for events hosted at the Ilitch School to help make your event seamless and successful.
Catering services
Wayne State Dining Services is the exclusive on-campus caterer for events where university funds exceeding $200 are used. For non-university funded events over $200, a waiver is required through Ilitch School Event Services. Please note that food and beverages are not permitted inside the auditorium. Contact Aramark Catering at 313-577-2400.
Dean participation
To request the dean's presence at your event, please email the Office of the Dean at ilitchbusinessdeansoffice@wayne.edu with the following details:

Space requests
Rental requests for conferences, meetings, and special events from both alumni and external organizations are welcomed. Events should align with Wayne State University's mission, as determined by the Ilitch School. Reservations may be requested only for the current semester, with priority given to Mike Ilitch School of Business classes and events. Space may be requested for events that take place on Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 10 p.m.; this is inclusive of setup and teardown time.
To request event space:
- Ilitch School staff and faculty: Email Pam William for room reservations
- Ilitch School student groups: Submit an online Student Organization Event Request
- Non-affiliated individuals/organizations: Submit an online Request for Event Space
Please allow 7-10 business days for us to process your request and confirm availability. Requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, and you'll receive confirmation and an estimated invoice via email.
If the University closes unexpectedly (e.g., due to weather), all events will be canceled and we will contact the event sponsor to reschedule and inform attendees.
