Undergraduate program learning goals
The Ilitch School's BS and BA programs, aligned with AACSB accreditation standards, focus on six key learning goals: mastering business core knowledge, applying critical thinking in complex environments, demonstrating teamwork, and excelling in oral and written communication. Students also gain proficiency in mathematical models and Microsoft Excel, preparing them for real-world business challenges.
The Ilitch School Faculty has defined six overall learning goals for our BS and BA programs (effective fall 2019)
- Students will demonstrate business core content knowledge in Quant Methods II, Business Finance, Organizational Behavior, Global Supply Chain and Operations Management, Marketing and Strategic Management, and Business Policy (see appendix A for more details)
- Students will apply content knowledge to demonstrate critical thinking for decisions in complex environments.
- Students will demonstrate collaborative teamwork skills in diverse environments.
- Students will be effective oral and written communicators.
- Students will be effective oral communicators.
- Students will be effective written communicators.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to apply and explain mathematical models and their results.
- Students will demonstrate a level of fluency with using Microsoft Excel.
