Ilitch School announces Zachariah Abdulnour to receive 2023 outstanding student award
The Mike Ilitch School of business has announced that Zachariah Abdulnour has been selected to receive the 2023 Outstanding Student Award at the 43rd annual Recognition and Awards Program.
A double major in Global Supply Chain Management and Information Systems Management, Abdulnour expects to graduate from Wayne State in December 2023 after an intensely active undergraduate career. During the winter 2023 term he served as president of both Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional fraternity, and the Global Supply Chain Management Association, and held other positions at these organizations prior to being elected president.
Abdulnour was a recipient of the 2023 25 Under 25 Award, the 2023 R. Gene Richter/Institute for Supply Management Scholar Award, and the 2023 Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals Future Leaders Scholar Award. He also received a scholarship from the American Trucking Association to attend their 2023 Trucking University conference.
His time as an undergraduate student was marked by industry experience as well as academic excellence. Abdulnour completed a Supply Chain Co-Op at DENSO International America, serving as a liaison between DENSO, Ford suppliers and Ford prototyping teams. He subsequently completed a yearlong purchasing Co-Op at Adient, where he facilitated direct and indirect purchasing for sourcing projects. Most recently he served as a summer supply chain risk intern at General Motors.
Upon finishing his degree, Abdulnour plans to begin his MBA.
Abdulnour will be honored on November 17, 2023 at the 43rd annual Recognition and Awards Program at the Roostertail. He will be honored next to the recipients of this year’s Michigan Executive of the Year Award, Emerging Leader Award, Distinguished Alumni Award, Inspirational Teacher Award, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hall of Fame Award and the Corporate Mentorship Program Founders Awards.
