Scholarships for business students
The scholarships and awards listed below give preference to students in the Mike Ilitch School of Business. While the Ilitch School is directly involved in selecting the recipients of certain scholarship awards, it is also asked to nominate student candidates for certain other scholarship awards other than those listed below.

John and Ethel Anthony Endowed Scholarship
Established to encourage perseverance and scholastic progress and to provide assistance to students in financing their undergraduate business education.
Suzanne M. Antonelli Graduate Scholarship
Because she was so impressed with the finance intern she hired at her firm, Suzanne M. Antonelli established this scholarship to support more bright graduate students majoring in finance, with a special focus on eligible applicants who are members of Wayne Women in Business.
Gary and Kathryn Armstrong Endowed Scholarship
In deep appreciation for the educational opportunities WSU afforded them, Dr. and Mrs. Armstrong established this scholarship to help others realize those same opportunities, recognize scholastic achievement and encourage continued progress with their education.
Richard H. Austin Fund for Accounting Excellence Scholarship
Established prior to the passing of Michigan's Proposal 2 in 2006, where preferential treatment cannot be based on gender, race or ethnicity, this scholarship was established as a tribute to the outstanding career of Richard H. Austin and to recognize the academic achievements and career potential of African American accounting students. Austin was the first African American Certified Public Accountant in the State of Michigan. He was elected Michigan's 39th Secretary of State in 1970 and served for a record 24 years.
Richard H. and Ida Austin Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
Established after Michigan's Proposal 2 was enacted, this scholarship fund provides assistance to Detroit students from underserved populations in financing their education in accounting at the Mike Ilitch School of Business. Richard H. Austin was the first African American Certified Public Accountant in the State of Michigan. He was elected Michigan's 39th Secretary of State in 1970 and served for a record 24 years.
Maxine Baughman Endowed Scholarship
Created to honor the memory of Maxine Baughman, who believed education is a way to heal conflicts and build support for people to help others. This scholarship fund was established to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
BDO Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
Funded through the generosity of BDO Detroit to recognize an outstanding accounting student. BDO USA, LLP is the United States member firm of BDO International, a global accounting network, headquartered in Chicago, employing 11,000+ employees at 80+ locations in the United States.
Beta Alpha Psi Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize the academic achievements of accounting majors.
Stanton P. Bocknek Memorial Scholarship
Since 1988, this scholarship has been awarded to accounting students who demonstrate high academic achievement.
Marianne Brandt Endowed Scholarship
Marianne Brandt, who was an employee of Wayne State University for more than 20 years before forming her own company, established this scholarship to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.

Robert Cook Bushnell Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of longtime Wayne State Finance and Business Economics Professor Robert Bushnell by his wife, Nan, to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Rebecca Joy Butler Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established by Timothy Butler, associate professor of supply chain management, and his wife, Beverly, to honor the memory of their daughter, Becky. This scholarship seeks to provide a student who has the same zest for life, love for others and potential for leadership as their daughter with assistance in financing his or her business education.
Rebecca Joy Butler Study Abroad Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of Rebecca Joy "Becky" Butler for a student in the Mike Ilitch School of Business who has the same zest for life, love for others and potential for leadership as Becky with assistance in financing expenses related to study abroad programs at Wayne State University.

Awarded by the Detroit chapter of Financial Executives International to recognize outstanding undergraduate and graduate students with a degree emphasis in accounting or finance.
Sam and Leonard Fink Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to business students demonstrating high academic achievement.
Ford Motor Company Scholarship
Established by Ford Motor Company to support high-achieving students.
Lyndon B. Ford Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of Lyndon Bernard Ford ('84), this scholarship was created by his family to honor Ford's legacy and to pay forward his core principles of continued learning and service to the community. This scholarship is intended to inspire the next generation of underserved students to be selfless leaders and fearless in reaching their goals, as Ford was.
Irving H. Frank Memorial Award
Established to encourage a student interested in the business field.
General Dynamics Land Systems Endowed Scholarship
Established by General Dynamics Land Systems to award an engineering or business student with a GPA of at least 3.25 with a preference toward residents of Highland Park or Hamtramck.
Raymond Genick Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student interested in small business management/entrepreneurship who exhibits excellence in scholastic and leadership efforts.
Mary K. and Paul A. Glantz Family Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize scholastic achievement and leadership, encourage continued progress, and provide assistance to students so that they may participate more fully in scholastic and extracurricular activities at WSU and in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Gummer-Angelocci Annual Scholarship
Established by Cindy Angelocci Gummer and Charles "Chuck" Gummer (M.B.A. '73) to provide assistance to graduate or undergraduate students who mirror Chuck's career path as employees or dependents of the Trenton Fire Department or Comerica Bank.
Charles and Katherine Hagler Endowed Scholarship in Public Relations
Established in 1989 in memory of Charles and Katherine Hagler to recognize outstanding students in advertising.
Jack A. and Bessie I. Hamm Endowed Scholarship
Established to assist men and women who would otherwise be unable to attend the university due to the lack of necessary funds.
Denise D. Hammond Scholarship
Ms. Hammond received both her B.S. in medical technology and her M.B.A. from Wayne State University. Having devoted a significant part of her life to public service, it is her wish to encourage others to pursue careers in the public sector. David Handleman Endowed Scholarship
Established to provide financial support to undergraduate business students at Wayne State University.
Lisa Higgins-Hussman Foundation Annual Scholarship

T. Norris and Vivilore Hitchman Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to incoming freshman and continuing business students. This scholarship was established to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and enhance students' educational experience, as well as provide assistance in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
George R. Husband Scholarship
Established in the memory of George Husband, who chaired the Department of Accounting from 1948 to 1958, this scholarship is presented to accounting majors who demonstrate high academic achievement.
Jack Demmer Ford Inc. Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize students of high scholastic achievement and strong leadership qualities who reside in the tri-county area.
Janicak Family Scholarship for Academic Excellence
Established by the Janicak family to recognize students demonstrating academic excellence and to help them achieve their educational goals through financial support.
Marjorie and Maxwell Jospey Foundation Endowed Scholarship
Maxwell Jospey attended Wayne State University before starting his illustrious career in the steel industry. This scholarship fund was established by the Marjorie and Maxwell Jospey Foundation to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Austin and Harriet Kanter Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize students majoring in marketing who display outstanding scholarship, leadership and service to the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Mildred and Charles Kaye Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize outstanding undergraduate students majoring in accounting. This scholarship endeavors to encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education.
Wilfred Kean Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1989 in memory of alumnus Wilfred Kean, this scholarship is designated for full-time and part-time scholars in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Kolasa Foundation Scholarship
The Kolasa Foundation provides scholarships to full- or part-time graduate students with at least a 3.25 GPA who demonstrate proven leadership skills at work or in a volunteer capacity.
Carl M. and Sandra A. Krampert Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Created in memory of the Kramperts to support juniors and seniors in the Mike Ilitch School of Business who demonstrate financial need and work at least 20 hours per week while pursuing their undergraduate degree.
Jack Kuzminski Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Created in memory of a highly esteemed Mike Ilitch School of Business faculty member and brother of Delta Sigma Pi, this award is designed to honor scholastic achievement.
Allan H. Leech and Kathryn J. Fitzpatrick Endowed Scholarship
Established by Kathryn J. Fitzpatrick in memory of her late husband, Allan H. Leech, to help students achieve greater opportunity through education. Mr. Leech was the former president of Masco Corporation and a first-generation college student from the United Kingdom.
E. David MacDonald Endowed Scholarship
Mr. MacDonald established this scholarship as a means of expressing his thanks to Wayne State University and also in hopes that his gift to the university will make a difference in a student's life. This scholarship recognizes scholastic achievement, encourages continued progress and provides assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.

Established to assist business students, preferably residing in Detroit, in financing their education at Wayne State University.
Randy Paschke Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
Established in honor of Randy Paschke, former managing partner of Arthur Andersen LLP, who has gone on to serve in various capacities at the Mike Ilitch School of Business. This scholarship supports students who are in their fifth year of college and pursuing the educational requirements to become a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
