The Mike Ilitch School of Business celebrates the 2023 graduating class of the Detroit Police Department Leadership Academy
On Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Mike Ilitch School of Business Leer Auditorium, the graduating class of the Detroit Police Department Leadership Academy gathered to celebrate the commencement where they received a Graduate Certificate in Business.
The Detroit Police Department Leadership Academy is a program created in partnership with Wayne State University and Deloitte LLP and is specifically designed and delivered for current and future leaders of the Detroit Police Department.
The program lasts for eight months, in which 18 officers from the Detroit Police Department completed content that built upon their educational background, skills, and work experiences. Officers foster a deeper working knowledge of leadership and business disciplines through classes focusing on management principles, leadership and personal development, and managing diversity in the workplace.
Completion of this certificate program provides graduates with a valuable credential -a Graduate Certificate in Business- that will give graduates approximately 50% completion towards an MBA degree if they choose to continue to complete their degree.
