In high school, a friend and I spent a weekend at Central Michigan University visiting her brother. We had So. Much. Fun., we decided right then and there to become Chippewas. 

But after falling in love with Michigan State’s campus via a little detour on our way home, we changed our minds. And that’s the story of how we rocked a little town called East Lansing for four years. 

‘Trump Tariffs’ and the effect they would have on Michiganders—with Jeff Rightmer 

LANSING, Mich. (WILX)—President-elect Donald Trump’s tariff trade policy has focused on China, but it’s not the only country on the list. Recently, America’s neighbors, Mexico and Canada, have received some indications that Trump would also add tariffs on goods from their countries. On Thursday, Canada told the United States what it might do should that happen. 

These tariffs would affect everything from gas to groceries to cars, and Michigan is the American hub for the automotive industry. Experts are concerned that if these tariffs happen, Michigan could be affected the most.
