Ilitch School connects sixty companies and over 450 students at winter career fair

The Mike Ilitch School of Business is committed to helping students go from college to career, preparing our students to leave our doors with a world class education and a meaningful career path. To that end, the Ilitch School hosted their 2025 Winter Career Fair on Wednesday, February 19, bringing sixty companies and over 450 students to the Ilitch School to network, discuss career opportunities and engage with future employers.

Companies from across the metro-Detroit region attended, including accounting firms like Deloitte, PWC, and Plante Moran, supply chain firms like DHL, AJM Packaging Corporation and VASCOR Logistics, technology companies such as BorgWarner or LightGuide, Inc., banks such as JPMorgan Chase and Mercantile Bank of Michigan and many other prominent Michigan organizations including DTE Energy, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, The State of Michigan, The Detroit Pistons, The Detroit Grand Prix, Rocket, and Ilitch Sports + Entertainment. Students of all majors were able to meet potential employers, distribute resumes and plan their next steps post-graduation.

The career fair was organized by the Ilitch School Career Services office, which organizes a significant career fair each semester. Susan Crowley, Director of the Ilitch School Career Services, was pleased with the results of this fair, commenting that “students had the opportunity to connect with top employers, gain valuable career and industry insights, and take meaningful steps toward their future careers. The recruiters attending had nothing but positive comments about our students' professionalism. It was inspiring to see so many students actively engaging with industry professionals, building connections, and discovering new opportunities that will shape their professional journeys.”

Employers were also impressed with the quality of students at the Ilitch School. Tasha German, Human Resource Specialist recruiting for the US District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, said that “The students communicate well, they can articulate what they want, and I think the biggest thing is that they are so professionally dressed. The attire, professionalism and readiness for development is amazing.”

Ilitch School Dean Virginia Kleist, always very proud of the Ilitch School of Business students, , commented “I was very pleased to see our students gain valuable connections with the variety of leading industry companies that were present at our face-to-face Career Fair event. Our students showed up and stood out, and were remarkable, truly. I was also delighted by the turnout of strong employers at the Ilitch Career Fair. I think that the excellence of the hiring companies is reflective of how well we do at preparing our students to be successful in business careers. We are delighted to support their journeys and are grateful to our employer partners for opening doors to future success.”

Established in 1946, the business school was renamed in 2015 in recognition of a $40 million gift from Mike and Marian Ilitch.
