CANCELED Student Athlete Business Symposium offers educational and networking opportunities to student athletes

Student athletes, mark your calendars! The Student Athlete Business Symposium is an event designed for student athletes who are looking to start a career in business. Former student athletes who have careers in the business world will be speaking on their journey through Wayne State, while playing on a team.
This two-part event will be held on October 13, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. The panel discussion and question and answer portions will be held in the Lear Auditorium, followed by a reception in the atrium for student athletes, alumni, coaches and corporate representatives to network and build relationships.
Speakers will include:
- William Avery, Senior Vice President, USB Financial Services/Men’s Baseball Player
- Rhiannon Kerr, CPA/Controller, Goodwill of Northern Michigan/ Women’s Cross Country Runner
- Fares Ksebati, CEO MySwimPro/Men's Swim Team
- Ajai Meeks, Alumni Relations Officer, Wayne State University/Women’s Basketball Player
- Lauren Scott, Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager, Wayne State University
In the second half of the event, students will have a chance to meet and network with representatives from The Detroit Pistons, Ascension Consulting, JP Morgan & Chase, Enterprise and Sherwin Williams.
