Virtual Work Experience Programs

The Career Planning and Placement Office offers free virtual work experience programs through Forage

Virtual work experience programs are online programs built and endorsed by leading companies. They contain a series of resources and tasks designed to simulate the real-world experience of starting a career. Virtual work experience programs on Forage are designed to help students:

  • Gain a better understanding of the diverse and exciting career pathways available
  • Build the skills and confidence that will set you up for success as you move from the world of study to the world of work

These programs are a risk-free opportunity to try out a career in a leading firm with benefits such as:

  • Virtual internships are open to all students (no applications!)
  • You can't make any mistakes in a Virtual Internship (no pressure!)
  • Virtual Internships are truly digital, you can complete them in your own time, from anywhere in the world.

When you sign up for a new virtual work experience program, you choose whether to share your information and submitted work with an employer. As you complete each module, you will unlock real work samples that demonstrate how a graduate at that company would have approached each task allowing you to assess your own work.

After completing each program, you can showcase your experience and abilities to prospective employers on LinkedIn. If you need help adding these experiences to your resume or have additional questions about virtual work experience programs, please contact the Career Planning and Placement office by phone at 313-577-4781 or by email at ilitchcareers@wayne.edu.
