Justin Adsitt-Weiner
2017 Mike Ilitch School of Business 25 Under 25 winner
B.S. in Global Supply Chain and Accounting expected August 2018
A transfer student from University of MichiganFlint, Justin hit the ground running as a Wayne State Warrior. He credits the mentorship of Professor Lori Sisk with helping him improve his resume and interview skills, and he expanded his network by volunteering at several job fairs with local employers. As a result, Justin began a purchasing co-op position with Lear Corporation in January 2017, becoming one of the first students chosen for the new program.
Justin is putting his leadership skills and experience to good use in the Ilitch School. He was voted on to the executive board of the Business Student Senate, and is actively involved in the Global Supply Chain Management Association, including their volunteer services.
One of his most treasured accomplishments is salvaging more than 100 desks and donating them to a needy public elementary school in Flint. He secured funding, enlisted volunteers, and even rented a box truck to make the delivery.
In addition to a study abroad experience in Germany, Justin has attended several national conferences around the country, including the Collegiate Entrepreneurial Organization's national conference, where he was able to network with and learn from prominent entrepreneurs including the founder of Priceline and the current CEO of Sprint.
"As long as I can remember, I have wanted to start my own business and leave a positive legacy in the world," Justin says.
2018 update:
Justin completed 11 months as a co-op at Lear Corporation in 2017. He has also accepted a full-time offer from General Motors in the Technical Rotation and Career Knowledge (TRACK) for Global Purchasing and Supply Chain following his graduation in May 2018.
