Amney Iskandar

2019 Mike Ilitch School of Business 25 Under 25 winner

M.B.A. expected May 2021

Amney Iskandar received her bachelor of science in computer science from Wayne State University in 2015. Since then, she has worked hard to bring attention to the gender gap that exists in the STEM field and encourages girls to pursue careers in STEM.

With this idea in mind, Amney joined the Islamic Center of Detroit's youth committee and became a co-lead of the career committee, where she hosts career expos, entrepreneurship talks, application development workshops, and resume building workshops for high school and college students. She is a member of the Association of Muslim Professionals and the Ummah Movement Institute, an organization committed to creating and sustaining structures to empower Muslim women.

Amney is currently a PLM software engineer and business analyst at General Motors. Along with enrolling in the Mike Ilitch School of Business M.B.A. program, Amney joined Jumpstart, one of General Motors' employee-resourced group that concentrates on employees with less than five years of employment, where she currently serves as the communications lead.
