2019 Mike Ilitch School of Business 25 Under 25 winner

B.S. in Global Supply Chain Management, minor in Spanish expected May 2019

A transfer student from Schoolcraft College, Vanessa Agrusa has maintained a 3.85 GPA since arriving at the Mike Ilitch School of Business. Out of over 500 global supply chain management students, Vanessa was one of four chosen to represent Wayne State at the 38th annual Operations Stimulus Conference and State Competition in Denver, where she was on the first-ever Wayne State team to take first place in the national case competition.

Vanessa has gained valuable internship experience at La Casa Guadalupana, a nonprofit for the Hispanic community in Detroit, where she coordinates family enrichment activities, rebranding and updating their website, and applying for grant funding opportunities. She also has a co-op position at Meritor, Inc., a leading global supplier of drivetrain, mobility, braking, and aftermarket solutions for commercial vehicle and industrial markets.

As an Irvin D. Reid Honors College student, Vanessa volunteers with Citizen Detroit, an independent nonprofit that organizes and activates engaged citizens in the democratic process. She is also a member of the Global Supply Chain Management Association at Wayne State and was a Ford Case Competition finalist.
