Michigan's roads: Funding and improvements

John Taylor, associate professor and chair of the Department of Marketing and Global Supply Chain Management at Wayne State University School of Business, talked about Michigan’s public roads situation and the proposed funding that will be directed towards repairs and improvements. 'We should have a dramatically better situation in terms of mobility in southeast Michigan — our expressway system," he said. "But we aren’t as good as we should be, and part of the problem is we haven’t added any capacity in 30-40 years fundamentally." Taylor said Michigan is losing billions of dollars per year in lost business, car repairs and safety issues because of the bad roads.
