M.B.A. student blends business with philanthropy

Wanting to improve yourself often has the side benefit of improving your network of friends and business contacts, David Contorer has found. Contorer was director of philanthropic services at the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, in Detroit, when he returned to school part time in 2010 to pursue an M.B.A. at what is now the Mike Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University. The degree seemed like a good way to supplement his social work degree and nonprofit career experience with some accounting and finance training.
