2023 GM/WSU Case Competition is set to kick off October 19

The Mike Ilitch School of Business’ Global Supply Chain Management department hosts the annual GM/WSU Case Competition, inviting schools from around the nation and the world to participate in a highly anticipated event.

The 2023 competition will take place between October 19 and 21, at both the Mike Ilitch School of Business and the GM Renaissance Center. Twenty schools will participate, including Technologico de Monterrey—Mexico, Howard University and Michigan State University.

In the first portion of the event, students will visit the Ilitch School for an in-depth look at the supply chain systems that support the automotive industry. They will then compete in teams to solve challenges involving procuring advanced technology components while considering logistics, costs, sustainability and other global business issues.

The competition is presented by the Ilitch School in partnership with General Motors. Additional support is provided by an impressive list of sponsors, including Lear, AGC, Ryder, Piston Group, Automotive Industry Action Group and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.

Although you must be invited to participate, those interested in the competition should stay tuned to learn more about this exciting event.
