Biography

Nurani Hafsa is currently pursuing her PhD in Marketing at the Mike Ilitch School of Business, Wayne State University, where she serves as a Graduate Research Assistant. Originally from Bangladesh, she completed her Bachelor of Business Administration at Khulna University and earned her Master of Business Administration from the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka, graduating as the valedictorian of her class. Her academic journey has been fueled by a deep passion for research and a commitment to leveraging marketing insights for the greater good of society.
Her long-term research agenda focuses on enabling marketing research-driven services for greater consumer good. She is particularly interested in capturing and modeling consumer reactions while engaging with digital media-based marketing. Her research aims to explore how changing consumer perception models can be monitored, predicted, and utilized in real time to establish a consumer-in-the-loop marketing strategy.
She has worked in commercial banks, where she honed her skills in recognizing trends and patterns and developing optimal strategies for managing the banks' interest rate risk and liquidity risk. Additionally, she contributed as a research assistant to a white paper titled Tourism Master Plan of Bangladesh 2023, commissioned by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
In the fall of 2024, Nurani moved to the United States to pursue her PhD in Marketing, driven by a vision to contribute meaningfully to the academic and research community. Following the completion of her PhD, she aspires to continue her journey in academia, where she aims to produce impactful research while mentoring and inspiring future generations of marketing professionals.
