Get to know Tom Shohfi
Biography
Tom Shohfi grew up on Long Island. He earned an undergraduate degree in computer science and mathematics from New York University. He then earned an M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, after several years working as an information technology professional.
Shohfi started teaching at UNC while working as an equity research analyst and decided to pursue a doctorate at the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating, Shohfi spent seven years working as an assistant professor of accounting and finance at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, before joining the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and Financial Risk Manager designations.
