Md Abrar Fahad Khan is a Ph.D. student in Marketing at the Mike Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University, where he is also serving as a Graduate Research Assistant. He was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he earned his undergraduate degree in business from North South University in 2016 and his MBA from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka in 2018, both with a major in Marketing.
Abrar's professional journey began with an internship at the US energy corporation Chevron in Bangladesh, followed by positions as a Management Trainee Officer and a Business Analyst for DataFort Ltd., Bangladesh. After more than two years in the corporate sector, Abrar shifted his focus to academia and joined Southeast University in Bangladesh as a Lecturer in Marketing, teaching courses in Principles of Marketing, Marketing Management, Brand Management, and Marketing Research at both the BBA and MBA levels for over two and a half years.
In the Fall of 2022, Abrar moved to the US to pursue his Ph.D. in Marketing at Wayne State University, where his research interests include brand management and consumer behavior. Upon completion of his degree, he plans to continue working in academia and imparting his knowledge to the next generation of marketing students while continuing his research.
When not studying or working, Abrar enjoys traveling to scenic places, reading crime fiction and detective mysteries, watching comic book movie adaptations, and playing video games. He currently resides in Midtown Detroit, Michigan.
