Get to know Catherine Cuckovich

Biography

Cathy has over 20 years of comprehensive marketing and advertising experience. She has successfully led most aspects of market development including: planning, strategy, brand positioning and branded content development.

Cathy is presently the Adcraft/Simons - Michelson Advertising Program Director and Assistant Professor of Teaching . She also serves as the Marketing Faculty Career Coach and is the Faculty advisor for the student led Mike Ilitch Marketing Association.

Prior to teaching Cathy was a consultant at Brandview Communications and 360 Brandmachine. She served as Senior Vice President, Director, Branded Content Planning at Team Detroit, Inc. where she helped her clients create innovative, cross-media solutions utilizing: branded content, product integration, strategic alliances and program sponsorships. Cathy also served Senior Partner, SUV Account Director for the Ford Motor Company stable of SUVs. She oversaw the development and market execution of brand positions for all Ford SUVs, including the launch of the Ford Escape Hybrid, the first full Hybrid SUV to market. Additionally, she provided consultation and crisis management services during the Firestone tire recall.

Her career at JWT/Team Detroit, Inc began in the Marketing Intelligence Group, performing competitive assessments both domestically and internationally. She also partnered with Ford Motor Company’s Marketing Plans and Brand Development group to identify global consumer trends and recommend segment strategies to ensure product offerings met emerging consumer needs.

Cathy’s career began in the Marketing and Sales organization of Ford Motor Company where she held numerous assignments, both in the field organization and at headquarters. Cathy has an MBA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
