Sheri Perelli

Biography

Sheri Perelli is an international communications, marketing and business and trade development professional with 25 years of government, corporate and consulting experience in Europe, North and South America, Africa and Asia. Her current independent consultancy, The PartnerShop, specializes in the formation of public-private partnerships supporting both non-profit and commercial health, education and communications projects in developed and developing markets. Recent initiatives include the production and distribution of educational television and radio series in China, Nigeria, Indonesia, South Africa and Latin America, educational theme parks in China and healthcare industry initiatives in the U.S. Ms. Perelli also advises government telecommunications agencies in Africa and Asia including China Educational Television, the world’s largest educational delivery system.

As a previous private sector White House appointee seconded to the US ambassador to Japan, she supported efforts of the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, US Commerce Department, U.S. Overseas Private Investment Corporation and other key government agencies in the promotion of U.S. business interests in Japan and provided counsel to major U.S. companies seeking initial or increased access to the Japanese market.

Dr. Perelli also held a variety of senior corporate management positions. In Asia she directed government relations and consumer influence activities including research, advertising and strategic marketing initiatives for the world’s largest automaker in its biggest developing market with a focus on China, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. Previously she served as one of the seven-member executive staff for the nation’s leading luxury car nameplate, directing public affairs, industry-government relations and marketing communications. She earlier held various corporate positions including the management of marketing, advertising, government relations, educational relations, stockholder relations and media relations.

Ms. Perelli earned a doctorate in management from Case Western Reserve University where she was a Mandel Fellow. She was awarded an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and earned B.A. and M.A. degrees in communications and political science from the University of Michigan. In addition, Dr. Perelli completed the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Graduate School of Business and has studied at Oxford University, Stanford and Northwestern university graduate schools of business and Harvard University’s J.F.K. School of Government and Social Policy. Her research interests include business as an agent of social change, social entrepreneurship, public-private partnerships and collective action, and board diversity.
