Biography

ShaCha Geronimo is an Academic Advisor with the Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business.  She is a native Detroiter, a Cass Tech High School graduate and a Wayne State alumnus who earned her BA in psychology. Previously, ShaCha worked in WSU’s Counseling & Psychological Services Department for 6.5 years.  

 
ShaCha has a strong background and passion for community development, the arts, fostering growth, diversity, and inclusivity within educational institutions. Her commitment to community-building extends beyond her professional endeavors, as she has volunteered her time and expertise in numerous initiatives focused on social and economic development. 
 
ShaCha is driven by her genuine desire to help students succeed. She understands the unique challenges that students face and is committed to providing them with the guidance and resources necessary to navigate their educational journeys successfully. With her empathetic approach and exceptional communication skills, ShaCha strives to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive academically and personally. 
 
When ShaCha is not advising, she loves to travel internationally, snuggle up to a good book, find solace and inspiration in the arts, spend quality time with her family and take the time for some selfcare with the occasional spa day.
