Carla Walker-Miller is the founder and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services, a Detroit-based company helping electric and gas utilities achieve mandated energy reduction goals by reducing waste, harmful greenhouse gases and creating local jobs. Walker-Miller launched the firm in 2000 and has grown it to become one of the largest African American and woman-owned energy waste reduction companies in the country. A tireless advocate for historically underrepresented communities, she has been widely recognized for her professional achievements and community leadership. A graduate of Tennessee State University, Walker-Miller was a member of Detroit's 2014 inaugural Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program, 2017 recipient of EY's Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Michigan and Northwest Ohio and the Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion's 2019 Humanitarian of the Year. Most recently, she was inducted into Junior Achievement of Southeast Michigan's Business Hall of Fame in 2021.
