Dr. Greer has practical experience in project management, process improvement, buyer-supplier relationships, manufacturing and quality management. Dr. Greer trains and consults with local businesses in the area of supply chain, inventory management, Manufacturing Resource planning and Diversity. She has industry experience with Timken Roller Bearing, Ford Motor Company and Chrysler/Jeep in Management and Engineering.
Education
Dr. Greer earned her Ph. D. from Kent State University in Business Administration and her MBA and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of Toledo
Research and teaching interests
Teaching interests include graduate and undergraduate courses in Operations, Global Supply Chain and Project management. Dr. Greer's research interests are in the areas of supply chain management, supplier diversity, project management, and the implementation of change.
Biography
Dr. Bertie M. Greer comes to Wayne State University after spending 15 years at Northern Kentucky University where she was most recently Professor and Chair of the Department of Management at Haile/US Bank College of Business She earned her Ph. D. from Kent State University in Business Administration and her MBA and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of Toledo. She has previous academic experience at Bowling Green State University, University of Detroit Mercy, Oakland University, University of Dayton and Sookmyung Women's University in Seoul Korea. She has industry experience with Ford Motor, Chrysler and Timken Roller Bearing.

Dr. Greer has published in the Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Applied Behavioral Sciences, Interfaces, Human Resources Development, Journal of Change Management and other scholarly journals and Books.
Awards
Dr. Greer has earned Best paper awards at the Academy of Management and the Midwest Decision Sciences Institute.
