Marina Houghton, CPA, most recently served as the Michigan managing partner of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP. Previously, Houghton was the founder and president of Wolinski & Company, where she specialized in providing accounting and consulting services to governmental, healthcare, manufacturing and not-for-profit organizations. In 2016, Marina was recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business Magazine as one of the “100 Most Influential Women” in Michigan. She was also named one of the “Top 40 under 40” by Crain’s Detroit Business in 2002. In 2003, Marina received Wayne State University’s Emerging Corporate Leader Award and was a finalist for the Eastern Michigan 2003 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Houghton has served on committees for several professional and not-for-profit organizations, including the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Detroit Zoological Society, Wayne State University, Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation, Grosse Pointe Foundation for Public Education and Beyond Basics. She received her bachelor’s in business administration at Wayne State University and completed advanced studies at Harvard Business School. Marina is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst, Certified in Financial Forensics and a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
