Melissa Sweda is a graduate advisor in the Mike Ilitch School of Business. She earned a bachelor of science in paralegal studies from Madonna University and a master of public administration from Wayne State University with a concentration in human and fiscal resource management.
Her main area of expertise is communicating with prospective students about graduate programs in the Ilitch School. She is ardent about helping domestic and international students navigate the admissions and registration process. Melissa is enthusiastic about the current revitalization of Detroit and enjoys discussing all of the opportunities a graduate business degree from Wayne State can offer.
Before joining Wayne State, Melissa enjoyed an extensive career in sales and merchandising, working at major retailers in Boston and Detroit. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) and the Michigan Academic Advising Association (MIACADA).
