WSU to host AdCon student advertising conference

The Adcraft Club of Detroit, Metro Detroit’s association for marketing and advertising professionals, announced details today of the 2016 AdCon advertising career conference. This year’s conference, sponsored by the Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business, will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wayne State University Student Center. 

Now in its 24th year, AdCon is the annual must-attend event for hundreds of students from area colleges and universities to:

  • Learn about the industry and discover a variety of career options within advertising, marketing, communications, public relations and startups.
  • Attend workshops led by influential professionals from a variety of disciplines:  account management, media (traditional, social, mobile and emerging), public relations, direct marketing, sales and creative.
  • Review resumes and portfolios with human resource and recruiting specialists from advertising agencies, marketing departments, startups and more.
  • Ignite their careers by networking with knowledgeable and influential professionals from local employers. In the past we’ve had representation from notable companies such as: Ford Motor Company, GM, Chrysler, Google, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Receive free informational interviews for participating in various activities leading up to and during the event.

AdCon 2016 registration is just $25 per student and includes a choice of three breakout sessions, a light breakfast, a networking lunch, resume and portfolio review and HR Q&A.
