Winners announced for Alpha Kappa Psi public speaking competition
Congratulations to the winners of Alpha Kappa Psi’s public speaking competition on April 1!
The first place winner of $1,000 was senior finance major Mahmoud Saleh. The second place winner of $500 was sophomore finance and ISM double major Mackenzie Queen, and the third place winner of $250 was junior ISM major Hala Ibrahim.
The competition is designed for students to practice public speaking skills. Topics covered included:
- What is a major change, advancement and/or innovation happening in your industry?
- How will the information you learned in classes at Wayne State transfer into the workplace and help you there?
Winners were determined based on content and delivery. For content, their presentations had to be relevant to the topic and backed by evidence. For delivery, the presentations had to have flowing structure and nonverbal cues.
The event was sponsored by Great Lakes Wine and Spirits, Quicken Loans, Northwestern Mutual and Plante Moran.
