WDIV-TV, WXYZ-TV: WSU celebrates second graduating class of the DPD Leadership Academy

Leaders from the Detroit Police Department, Wayne State University and the City of Detroit came together on Friday, April 26, at the Mike Ilitch School of Business to celebrate the achievements of the second graduating class of the Detroit Police Department Leadership Academy. Developed by faculty in Mike Ilitch School of Business, the Detroit Police Department and the City of Detroit, the DPD Leadership Academy is a unique program designed specifically for current law enforcement leaders and police officers seeking advanced responsibilities. Speakers at the event included Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, DPD Chief James Craig, WSU Board of Governors Chair Kim Trent, WSU Provost Keith Whitfield and Ilitch School Dean Bob Forsythe.

The graduation ceremony was featured by WDIV-TV (NBC-4) and WXYZ-TV (ABC-7) during the 5 p.m. newscasts on April 26.
