Wayne State students win 13 out of 20 MMSDC scholarships

Wayne State University students won 13 of 20 available scholarships from the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC). Awardees were invited to attend the 2017 ACE Awards & Chairman’s Scholarship Gala at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center on Dec. 8.

Foujia Uddin received the top scholarship of $10,000.

The following 12 Wayne State students won $5,000 scholarships:

The MMSDC is dedicated to helping the economic growth of minority business enterprises (MBEs) by facilitating successful business partnerships between MBEs and multinational corporations. The organization recognizes that the future of minority-owned business rests in the ability of youth to pursue higher education and to have exposure to the many successful minority women and men in our communities who serve as role models for hard work and perseverance.  

The scholarship program helps top minority undergraduate students in Michigan achieve their academic and professional goals while providing the business community access to a talented pool of students from which to recruit and employ.
