Wayne State Big Data Symposium to focus on business success

The fourth annual symposium on Big Data and Business Analytics will be held March 23 and 24 at the WSU Student Center Building. The symposium focuses on pragmatic issues faced while deploying big data strategies to drive business success.

The Wayne State Big Data and Business Analytics Group has been at the forefront of a data evolution and is fast becoming the Midwest’s premier center of innovation. The Mike Ilitch School of Business has played an important role since the group’s formation. Associate Dean Toni Somers is a founding member and serves on the organizing committee for the symposium.

The symposium is just one example of WSU’s leadership in the big data space. The Ilitch School and the College of Engineering recently partnered to launch an interdisciplinary Master of Science in Data Science and Business Analytics.

The Big Data and Business Analytics symposium is a great opportunity for leaders and decision-makers in:

  • Information technology
  • Product development
  • Manufacturing
  • Operations
  • Supply chain management
  • Marketing
  • Finance

The symposium offers the opportunity to learn from top practitioners and industry leaders, including discussions from executives and directors.

There will also be keynote addresses from experts who understand the potential for big data to improve business operations, as well as panel discussions on empowering your organization through big data and analytics.
