Thaddaeus Irby to receive Science Spectrum Trailblazer award

Mike Ilitch School of Business Part-Time Faculty in Management Thaddaeus Irby has been selected to receive a Science Spectrum Trailblazer award by Career Communications Group, Inc. (CCG). Science Spectrum Trailblazer award winners are men and women who are actively creating new paths for others in science, research, technology and development. Some are experienced executives who continuously seek innovative products or lines of thought, some are breaking new ground at the midpoint of their careers, and others are recent graduates who show pioneering promise. Regardless of career point, Science Spectrum Trailblazer award winners distinguish themselves by constantly setting their sights higher, striving to innovate and opening doors for others.

Irby will be honored at CCG’s 2022 Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) and Global STEM Conference in February.

CCG was founded with a mission to promote significant minority achievement in the STEM fields. The annual BEYA STEM Conference is a three-day event consisting of learning, networking, celebrating excellence and showcasing STEM career opportunities.

Irby was nominated by his employer, Lockheed Martin, where he works as the senior manager in enterprise technology. Mike Ilitch School of Business Associate Dean Toni Somers and Department of Management and Information Systems Chair Christine Jackson also contributed to the nomination by writing letters of recommendation.
