Taxpayer Advocate Service available to counsel WSU community Jan. 16

The Wayne State University student chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) is sponsoring and facilitating a presentation by and workshop with the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS). The event takes place Tuesday, Jan. 16, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in Prentis Building rooms 15, 17 and 19.

An independent organization within the IRS, the TAS protects taxpayer rights and helps citizens with tax problems they can't resolve on their own.

The event will begin with a 15-20 minute presentation describing what the Taxpayer Advocate Service does. Following the presentation, staff members from the service will be available for individual counseling sessions with Wayne State students, faculty, and staff who may have problems with the IRS.

For more information about this event, please contact Mike Ilitch School of Business Accounting Professor Myles Stern at 313-577-4489 or m.stern@wayne.edu.
