Supply chain management program hosts employer panel

A panel of supply chain professionals from multiple international companies assembled at the business school in early October to speak about industry trends and answer questions for a group of more than 70 students.

Student members of the school’s Global Supply Chain Management Association (GSCMA) organized the event in collaboration with the school’s Career Planning and Placement Office. Companies represented on the panel included Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Delphi, Ryder, Jabil, Kellogg and C.H. Robinson Worldwide.

“A great sense of enthusiasm was felt by all attendees as the panelists shared their insight regarding a variety of popular topics in supply chain,” said Sara Mahmood, GSCMA president, supply chain major and panel moderator.

Apart from the enthusiasm shown by student supply chain majors, the event drew attendance from students across business school disciplines. After the panelists shared information about their professional experiences, the student audience engaged them in a series of thought provoking questions.

Reflecting upon his experience, student Eric Plotkowski said he “found the supply chain panel to be extremely informative and an excellent opportunity to meet professionals in the supply chain realm today.”

Many students said they gained a great deal of knowledge from their experience with the panelists and enjoyed the networking opportunities following the question and answer session. Panelists said they enjoyed sharing their knowledge with the staff and students at the School of Business Administration.
